SPS IPC Drives 2013

SPS IPC Drives 2013, Europe’s leading exhibition for electric automation technology, was held at Nuremberg Trade Fair Centre from November 26-28, 2013. A total of 15 Indian companies exhibited at SPS IPC Drives 2013. Mechatronica (Indian Cluster of Mechatronics), based in Mumbai participated in the fair. Mr. M. Sevala Naik, Consul General, inaugurated the India pavilion of Mechatronica on November 26, 2013.

67th Independence Day of India - 2013, Celebrations at the Consulate

The 67th Independence Day was celebrated at the Consulate General of India, Munich 15th August 2013. The Flag hoisting, followed by reading of President’s address to the Nation by Consul General Mr. M. Sevala Naik and recital of patriotic song was attended by over 250 members of Indian Community/Diaspora.

Installation of Mahatma Gandhi Statue in Stuttgart.

A statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been installed at the Mahatma Gandhi Street in the City of Stuttgart at an impressive ceremony on 17 July, 2013. The Mahatma Gandhi Statue was unveiled by Dr Martin Schairer, Mayor, City of Stuttgart and Mr. M. Sevala Naik, Consul General.  The Mahatma Gandhi Statue sculpted by Gautam Pal was gifted by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The installation ceremony was attended by around 200 people.

Indian Film Festival Stuttgart 2013.

The 10th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart was held from July 17-21, 2013. The Festival ceremonially opened on July 17, 2013 with the screening of the Film \'Bombay Talkies\'. This year, the Festival screened 26 feature films, 20 short films and 12 documentaries. Indian Film Festival Stuttgart is said to be the largest Bollywood Film Festival in Europe.

GIRT Meeting Stuttgart during 'Indian Summer 2013' celebrations.

The Stuttgart Chapter of German Indian Round Table (GIRT) organised a special GIRT meeting on July 17, 2013 as part of the Indian Summer 2013 celebrations at the Restaurant Alte Kanzlei, Stuttgart. The meeting was attended by around 35 businessmen from the region Stuttgart doing business with India. The City of Stuttgart and Mumbai have a twinning agreement since March 1968 and the annual Indian Summer celebrations are being held on the basis of this twinning agreement.

Stone Tec 2013, 18th International Trade Fair for Natural Stone and Stone Processing Technology, was held at Nuremberg trade fair centre from May 29 to June 1, 2013. A total of 13 Indian companies displayed marble, granite and other natural stones in Stone Tec 2013. All India Granites & Stones Association also participated in Stone Tec 2013.

A variety of Indian classical and Bollywood dance performances and cuisine enhanced the grandeur of the event
